I am a Stott-trained Pilates mat & reformer instructor with over 10 years of teaching experience. My story began in Sydney where I took a U-turn away from advertising and started my Pilates journey. I have a passion for the human body & how lifestyle can compromise it and how it works. As a mother of 3 little boys I have a particular understanding of the female anatomy and have done extensive training in pre & postnatal Pilates as well as recently completing a Menopause for Movement qualification.
I have been to a lot of Pilates classes in my time and too many of them fail to mention the pelvic floor or deep abdominal engagement and rarely correct in their classes. For me, it is so important to teach people to understand how their bodies work, how their ‘core’ works so that they can truly benefit from Pilates. I want people to ‘get it’ so that it stays with them not just in class but when they are on their way to work, in the garden, lifting a child or running. As well as focusing on correct technique I make sure everyone is challenged in a class. My Clients tend to book in for a term and It is so satisfying to see how much stronger they become over the weeks and months. If you come open to learning you will reap the benefits and hopefully avoid injuries well into old age.
I run a range of classes from beginner to advanced as well as a Mum & Baby class and an 'active-ageing' class for older clients which is focussed on mobility.
