Pilates can transform bodies. It makes them stronger, more mobile, and can help correct muscular imbalances. It improves core strength, flexibility, joint health & mobility, posture, balance, coordination and body awareness. It’s very effective when used to rehabilitate after injury or illness and it can help relieve chronic back pain.
Class begins with a review of the basic fundamentals and a warm-up. This is followed by a series of traditional mat exercises designed by Joseph Pilates, and modern adaptations using small pieces of equipment It finishes with a short constructive rest and stretches.
Class is suitable for all levels and all are welcome. I provide modifications and progressions for the yoga poses and Pilates exercises so that everyone can work at their own level and progress at their own pace.

I’m Dawn Clerkson, a Senior Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance Professionals UK, and a Level 3 Mat Pilates Instructor. I’ve been teaching yoga since 2010 and Pilates since 2018.
