I first discovered pilates whilst at Ballet West, a professional dance school in Scotland. We were taught a few exercises and I new straight away that there was something extremely beneficial in this particular movement technique.
After two years I moved to London where I trained at the Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance. When I started to get injuries I knew I had to seek out a Pilates class to see if it could help, and it did. I am currently on maternity leave so please contact Simona Ciabatti.
It gave me an inner strength and started to rebalance my muscles, even helping with my mild scoliosis!
Even after I graduated from Rambert and continued with my dance career I stuck with Pilates. I kept learning more and more about my body, improving and strengthening it, there was no way I was stopping now.
The next stage was to become a teacher so that I could share the magic of Pilates with other people. I gained my mat work teachers qualification in Nov 06 with Body Control Pilates. I have since gained my Intermediate mat work certificate, Ante and Post Natal certificate and Reformer certificate with honours. Recently I have the role of a supervising teacher, assisting Body Control teacher trainers with their teaching practice.
