Gentle Pilates

This class is gentle and pays particular attention to alignment and precision of movement. As a result it is slower paced giving us the time to focus on movement patterns with greater explanation and/or adaptation.
It's ideal for those wanting to gain a greater understanding of good movement patterns, pre/postnatal clients, older clients and those returning to exercise following an injury or surgery.
New clients are welcome following an initial 1-1. This is essential to show you the basics and gain an understanding of your particular needs.

Body Control Pilates with Franny

I qualified as a registered general nurse in 1991 and have always loved my work, but all those years of bending and lifting took its toll on my posture and I started to become more limited by generalised aches and pains. A physio friend suggested I try Pilates and it transformed my life. I’ve never looked back.

My core strength and posture improved quickly and within weeks I felt ‘normal’ again. It was fantastic to learn how to be more aware of alignment and movement. Through regular practice my shape has visibly changed, I’ve become leaner and my posture is much better. I’m stronger, more flexible and above all more confident and happy.

My experience of the benefits of Pilates motivated me to learn how to help others and I’m now a Level 3 Pilates teacher. I trained with Body Control Pilates, London, I’m on the Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs) and am a member of the Body Control Pilates Association (BCPA). I’m also additionally qualified to teach Pre and Post natal Pilates, Pilates for Golfers and use small equipment.

I want to help you understand and feel what good movement is, so that in your day to day life you’re equipped with the awareness, knowledge and skills to be able to move well, limit your risk of injury and above all feel brilliant.
