Move through Menopause Day

A day which raises awareness of the stages of menopause and teaches pilates exercises which are beneficial.

Session 1 - The stages of menopause, and our hormones. Exercise focus on breathing techniques & gentle movement to aid sleep and manage stress.

Session 2 - HRT and other treatment options. Exercise focus on improving muscle, bone, & cardiovascular strength for a stronger body.

Session 3 - Pelvic floor and sexual health changes. Exercise focus on how to correctly engage the pelvic floor muscles to strengthen and release.

Session 4 - How nutrition and lifestyle changes can help. Exercise focus on improving proprioception, balance, co-ordination and cognitive function.

Day course timetable

10-10.30am - arrive & cuppa
10.30-11.25am - Session 1
11.25-11.45am - break
11.45am-12.40pm - session 2
12.40-1.40pm - lunch (bring your own)
1.40-2.35pm - session 3
2.35-3.45pm - break
3.45-3.40pm - session 4
3.40-4pm - guided relaxation

Cothi Valley Pilates

Becki teaches Body Control Pilates mat classes & Studio Equipment Sessions, and Franklin Method Equestrian & Equipilates Classes in Carmarthenshire.

Whichever of Becki's classes you attend, you will be guaranteed individual attention and an understanding of your needs. Cothi Valley Pilates classes are small, fun, and friendly.

Becki was introduced to Pilates in 2005 by her Osteopath as a way of regaining strength and mobility after having back surgery. Overwhelmed by the speed of her recovery and the reduction in pain once Pilates was introduced into her rehabilitation programme she made Pilates a regular part of her routine.

In 2009 Becki commenced her Pilates teaching journey with Body Control, starting out with Mat work before moving onto the low back pain, bone health & older adult qualifications and studio machines. Her main areas of interest are in rehabilitation, and supporting women through menopause. As an ongoing member of the Body Control Pilates Association she continues to attend annual training courses for her professional development. Weekly 121 Pilates lessons with another teacher help Becki to improve her own technique and remain injury free.

Becki is a busy mum who loves spending time with her husband and children. In her spare time she enjoys looking after the alpacas on their smallholding, horse riding, and dancing.
