I first tried Pilates about 15 years ago and quickly realised it was for me! I am passionate about how Pilates can improve not only the function of your body through improved posture and alignment, strengthening muscles but also your mind from the concentration and focus required in class.
After practising Pilates myself for a number of years I qualified as a Pilates Foundation Matwork teacher and more recently qualified as a Comprehensive Matwork and equipment teacher with Body Control Pilates. My training has helped me gain a better understanding of the body and how Pilates can benefit an individual's overall well-being, particularly in the increasingly busy and demanding world we live in. I have also completed specialist pre and post natal Pilates training to gain a deeper understanding of the benefits of Pilates to ladies during and after pregnancy.
I think Joseph Pilates got it spot on when he said that "Pilates develops the body uniformly, corrects wrong postures, restores physical vitality, invigorates the mind and elevates the spirit".
I love teaching Pilates, tailoring my classes/sessions to the needs of my clients and seeing the improvement in them week after week as they learn more about Pilates and their bodies.
